[avahi] dbus or not dbus?

I have actually since changed my mind, I'm working on a d-bus solution,
but I am in exam period and have been a bit stuck for time, last ones
tomorrow so hopefully more code will come soon.

Somewhat, this was part of my original motivation for using dbus, so
that native bindings can be written, but traditional c library wrappers
can till be written
