[avahi] High CPU utilization on dd-wrt (was: daemon process timeout)

Hello, I mostly solved my problems and now have Avahi running on my
dd-wrt based router (Broadcom 5354 / 240Mhz)

For those that are interested, I posted questions to the dd-wrt forum
which basically documents my adventure:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=452975

But I have a new problem. When I run top, I see very high CPU
utilization 78-98%. (My top output is below.) Are there any
suggestions on how this can be lowered?

Thanks
