I used tcpdump on both this machine and a mac and both machines do see the 'igmp' messages but not any actual mdns announcements from the FreeBSD machine running avahi. I do, however, see the mdns announcements from the mac. Output from 'avaha-daemon --debug': Found user 'avahi' (UID 558) and group 'avahi' (GID 558).
