It seems like avahi-daemon tries to chown avahi runtime directory to AVAHI_USER regardless of the option. As we need to use avahi in our own sandbox we disable chroot and drop-root on avahi-daemon and do not want to configure AVAHI_USER. The attached patch enables one to achieve that.
