Sure, it would be absolutely OK.

About the address, that depend on *who* you want to interview, we use a 
mailing list as our main communication channel: 
http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/clipart

But you can talk directly with the interviewee, may he be Jon Phillips, 
the closets person we have as a team leader, John Olsen, probably the 
most active contributor, Ryan Lerch, another great contributor or 
someone else (we have a lot of great people).

Maybe have a look at the mailing list archive and see who are the people 
(its harder to contact clipart uploaders as we don't always have their 
contact info). Or maybe a collective interview? Do as you like.
