Was there anything wrong with the svg support in gtk? I noticed by
mistake that my new user data services project
(https://www.launchpad.net/coisas) could display svg images quite
happily:

http://imagebin.ca/view/iB8dKvN.html <- all of which are svg files of
various complexity.

You could create a openclipart.org plugin for the user data services, or
just hack up the galleries example

A lot of the python plugins are just python files that'll work on their
own minus the inx file (yes I've made inkscape plugins before)

I'd not do anything in wx or qt myself, mostly because I have an
irrational dislike for the kde devs and wx always seems to looks ugly.
Oh and I like using glade to speed up visual development.
