Period. If you make an account, you have to set your age form or birthday? After you have made the account of a certain date, THEN you can see the checkbox. And you have to set the checkbox to see the nsfw clipart. Then, I think, that gives the most choice for those who want to use that "facility" and those who don't want to. (Haha. It's funny discussing this on an open mailing list. There's the workaround right there. Any 13 year old worth his salt will be able to figure this out without us spelling it out for him on the public record. Ironic.) I would prefer that NSFW stays off OCAL. But time and again Jon has stated that we don't censor like that. So until his mind changes on that issue, we must find "workarounds" to keep NSFW away from minors. Anything else is irresponsible, AND hampers the growth potential of OCAL. To me that's the more important issue. I want to see OCAL grow. This NSFW issue is a roadblock at the moment. On the issue of PD or not for the images. The issue is much wider. Ford argues you are breaking copyrights if you distribute pictures of your Ford car. Now would we remove are clip art of a ford mustang? Definitely not, unless maybe ford threatened to sue. There is only one direction to take. Respond to take down notice as they come. It is impossible to check everything. I think even a judge would agree that you can't possibly be expected to to verify every picture of a nude women found on the web. But sure at some point someone will say:" hey this is my picture. Stop using it.". At that point we will need to ask the user to either prove that he is the rightful owner of that design, that it is PD or have it removed.
