I once search on disk for SVG's that have image tags in them and there are more then 2k of them. here is a list I created some time ago using bash script <a href="http://openclipart.org/embeded_images.txt" target="_blank">http://openclipart.org/embeded_images.txt</a>. Validation SVG's after upload is good idea to have, and we definitely need it, but you must remember that OCAL is huge collection of clipart and it's not easy to fix all the issues right now. There were lot of other issues with database and old clipart from first version of OCAL where you were able to upload png and we fix that so we fix that too. Just be patience.
