This, I feel, is a very good idea. That way, the code can stay clean
(and it certainly feels so, having recently switched from Beryl to
Compiz), but we could still have a beryl-compiz-plugins (say) pacakge,
that we can configure in gconf for use with Compiz.

On a side note, I'd like to add that I too prefer gnome-compiz-manager
and gconf to beryl-settings; and gtk-window-decorator with Metacity
theme support to emerald. At least for the moment, that is!
