Listmates (only posting to one list)

Compiz has been running great with the 8.433 driver except for the
libGL SONAME lockup on exit.

see: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344135

I just built and installed the 8.452 driver. Compiz would not start
with the normal fusion-icon approach that I have been using with the
8.433 driver. This is on my Toshiba P35 laptop with an ATI
Radeon/Mobility 9600. The only way I started compiz was with the cli of:

compiz --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints --indirect-rendering \
--no-libgl-fallback --replace ccp &

When compiz did start, it is the dreaded blank white cube of death. The
manual install utilized my existing xorg.conf was completed as follows:

    # su
    # cd /usr/src/linux
    # make mrproper
    # make cloneconfig
    # make modules_prepare
    # make clean

    # init 3

    # rpm -e $(rpm -qa | grep fglrx)

    # sh ati-driver-installer-8-01-x86.x86_64.run --listpkg
    # sh ati-driver-installer-8-01-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg
SuSE/SUSE103-IA32

    # rpm -Uvh /usr/src/packages/RPMS/i386/fglrx*.rpm
    # cp xorg.conf.save /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I have tried starting compiz with and without the libraries configured
as required to get around bug #344135. Do you have any tips or tricks
that I should try?
