I am convinced that amongst other biological domains agriculture and horticulture should be inspirated by what emerge in free software. I think the most interesting idea should be the creation of a Libre Public DNA Network (based perhaps on a collaboration between Universities and Botanical Gardens), which collects DNA from new plants varieties, stores it in deep freezers and registers the wishes and data from the hybridizers about their creations. But what about the hardware parts? There are some people working on actual "libre graphics hardware" too!
