Dear Libre Graphics Community, The LGM board is happy to recommend Montreal for the 2011 venue. The recommendation of the LGM board (made up of past organizers and people having been involved in the fundraising) is based on our guidelines and on the informations we have gathered from the teams and from the community. It is made primarily in the interests of having as many people as possible from the projects at the conference next year. We look forward to a great LGM again in 2011. Before making this an official announcement, we ask the community to comment on our recommendation until Sunday morning, July 18 (GMT). If no serious issue is raised, we will officially announce the venue on Monday, July 19. We want to cheerfully thank all who have expressed their views in this very lively discussion. We especially want to warmly thank the Vietnam and the Brasil teams who have put together very interesting proposals. It is a good indicator of how healthy the LGM community is and we think this is most promising for the future. We also wish to confirm that from now on we are engaged into a 2-year process to determine the following LGM venues. We will thus be in close contact with both the Vietnam and the Brasil teams in the coming months. The decision for 2012 will be made in December or January. Please stay tuned!
