Contrast is good and print defects are kept to a minimum, but neither
can compensate for the poor clarity, which really drags the movie
down.
There's also some nice shadow detail and accurate fleshtones throughout.
Their fates are resolved in The Siege, Part III, which may stop the
immediate threat but introduces even larger struggles.
Still, despite a few lesser installments, The Waltons retains the
atmosphere that gives it its timeles quality.
The way the Dragonfly character is portrayed really tilts this one back
on itself in a way that maybe won't jump right out at you, but it is a
clever sort of nuance that pays off well. In Michael, we meet this
confused figure (Connor Trinnear) who has no memory of his time as a

The camera moves constantly and the editing is hyperkinetic, which seems
a dubious choice for a concert most likely to appeal to those of us who
are elderly and annoyed by such ADD tactics.
Lowry, however, handles the bumps pretty deftly, and the odd comedic
miss tends to not seem as tragic just due to the silly nature of the

Likewise, on Walton's Mountain, the year will bring changes, both tragic

While it might not wow viewers accustomed to the recent Pixar releases,
the image remains strong throughout the energetic presentation. The
vocals are clean and free of distortion. And unfortunately, director
Ridley Scott drives that point home with his anemic adaptation of

overall effect. Tamura is told to go back to the hospital again, and
failing that, to kill himself. If the rest of the film can't quite be
deemed a classic, this sequence will go down among the most memorable in
motion picture history. However, it does include the silly lines "you

Or would the fairy tales turn off this sometimes cynical reviewer?
