There is a footnote to that, which is that there is authentication if 
both ends of the connection share an NFS-mounted home directory, and in 
that case encryption probably does not matter. i.e. dbus should work in 
the normal "remote X server" kind of case. Though to work really well, 
ssh needs adapting to forward DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS.
