How to test system bus

Dear all,

I need some help here.
I just cross compiled dbus to my ARM target. I executed 'dbus-daemon 
--system'.
I have also created user, messagebus in my system as requested when i failed 
to run the above command the first time.

Is there anyway that i can test whether the system bus that i started is 
running.
