Urgent: dbus-1.2.12 cross compilation issue

hi,
I m configuring dbus-1.2.12 by writing ./configure --target=arm-linux
--disable-abstract-sockets
this executes perfectly with no error.
but when I m executing make, it shows an error that
/usr/lib/libexpat.so - File in wrong format.

i have installed expat in my arm-linux toolchain and its .so file is also there.
But it doesn't read that instead it reads library files from /usr/lib
and include files from /usr/include.

can anybody help me to solve this problem?
