Summary: Hebrew characters VAV, FINAL NUN, and YUD in Sans should
                    be similar
           Product: DejaVu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Sans
        AssignedTo: dejavu-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: dov.grobgeld at gmail.com

In the Sans font, the Hebrew characters VAV (U+05D5), and FINAL NUN (U+05DF)
have a "roof" (short vertical bar) on top, wheras YUD (U+05D9) does not. I think
that the font looks more consistant if these glyphs all have the same look on
the top. E.g. in Arial and Nachlieli CLM, none of these characters have roofs. I
think that this approach that should be used in DejaVu sans as well, i.e. no
roof, but just a simple vertical bar. Just like YUD, but down to the base line
for VAV, and further down for FINAL NUN.

Note that if this change is accepted, then there are some Yiddish ligature
characters that should be changed as well for consistancy.

Everything is IMHO, of course...
