Ligatures like "fi" move downward about 1pt.
This appears most noticeably on any Fedora release after Fedora 6.
The appearances of "fi" descend a little below the line and are visually
distracting and should not be displaying that way.
It appears to occur at odd-numbered point sizes at most screen DPIs.
