I could not find the coolsense kernel module you mentioned above, maybe it is a
an BIOS option, could you point to me the reddit link?
Besides, the web/music/comping are working well, which means the cpu frequency
should not be throttled, and this is what the thermal management would  touch
when the temperature is too high, but this should not the case per your
description.  I suspect there might be a adjustment in the graphic card.
BTW, you can always check with latest upstream kernel(not the distribution
kernel).
And you can try running the latest 'turbostat' both when running in
normal/abnormal cases, let's make a double check if the cpufreq has been
throttled or not.
