Well the result is mitigated somehow. The game still crashes, but this time it did not lock my computer. I was able to go to a tty to look at dmesg, and eventually Xorg auto restarted (though I didn't try to see if that session would worked, I prefered to restart the machine completely). I will attach the dmesg.
