No, not really.
We should of course try to fix the hang and that's why I think we should keep
this bug open, but driver bugs like this can always happen and not only in
radeon but other kernel drivers as well.
As I said that's why dedicated hardware independent of the main CPU is usually
used for things like this.
IIRC there is also a rather big warning in the fancontrol manual about this.</pre>
