Drop the proposal if you think it will be that much trouble. The Linux kernel fbdev layer supports mode name strings and I was just going to pass on whatever I found in the field. The fbdev names come from /etc/fb.modes and you can edit them to whatever you want. -- Jon Smirl jonsmirl at gmail.com
