That's the expected behaviour.

That's deliberate from Adobe to not have put that in XMP SDK: they don't
want to compete with their "for-or-fee" PDF SDK.

I guess that is something that has to be written for exempi :-)
To be honest it is very low on my list, but I'd love a patch :-)
