Hi list,

I want to write a simple GUI to let the user manipulate the fontconfig
configuration and write the result into ~/.fonts.conf.
For this I would need to read the current configuration as fontconfig
sees it and use that one as a base for further manipulation.

- From what I saw from the source code, the configuration is stored into a
internal struct. I suppose developers are not supposed to access that
struct directly and that it might change in a newer release without warning.

However, I did not find any function which dumps the struct into
parsable data (e.g. XML). Are there any plans to implement such a
function or even a command line program which does this? I think it
would also be very helpful for 'debugging' custom made config files
(e.g. in font packages).

Cheers
Arne
