<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Forgive me for my noob-ness, but I am trying to install the latest version of fontconfig. I downloaded the fontconfig.tar.gz file.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I unzipped it with this command <STRONG>gtar xvfz fontconfig.tar.gz</STRONG>. Then I cd to the new fontconfig dir. When I try to build it, I notice there is no <STRONG>configure</STRONG> in the directory. From the INSTALL file, I am led to believe that there <EM>should</EM> be a <STRONG>configure</STRONG> in there. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm on a sparc-solaris2.8 machine.</FONT></DIV>
