</div>On what platform? Presumably not any normal Linux desktop at least,<br>
because if no fonts would be found by gtk-demo, surely your Linux<br>
desktop would not really work very well otherwise either?<br>

So is this Windows? In that case, fontconfig is not involved by gtk,<br>
and the error message is misleading.<br>
