Hi,

Before starting, I must say that I haven't change my Linux OS (Mandrake 8.1)
for 3 years. So, I dont't really know if there were a big evolution until
now.

I don't know if there is a possibility to edit keyboard on Linux
(libxklavier ?...).
If not, it should be launch by freedesktop.org. If yes, it should be a word
about this.
In this editor, there would be a list of all existing keyboard ISO profiles.
In addition to keyboard ISO profiles, there would be a possibility to add a
custom profile for edit some keys.
For example, in hawaiian language, there is an accent (seems that is ʻ,
U+02BB) in their typography. Seems there are no keyboard that be able to
write this accent.

I don't know if there is a possibility to write directly unicode characters
without IME on Linux.
Like on Windows AltGr+number which is limited to 255, it would be possible
to write unicode characters based on unicode numbers.

Bye.
