Unfortunately not, that's why this fix had to be reverted. :(

As mentioned in the revert commit log, the fix for tray icons broke KDE
window decorations.


There is an ongoing GSoC project for reworking the glamor RENDER
acceleration, that will hopefully resolve both issues for the xserver
1.17 release.
