Compilation errors while building Gstreamer

Hi ,

I am trying to compile the gstreamer to use it in my android project  , I
followed the steps that are under the section "Building GStreamer with the
NDK" on this page

 http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/wiki/GstreamerAndroid_InstallInstruction

I'm using android-ndk-r8c for compilation and got following error:

arm-linux-androideabi-g++: error: unrecognized option '-avoid-version'
make: *** [obj/local/armeabi/libgstadder.so] Error 1

Any idea why this should be the case?
