+After I installed the gstreamer-core (et. al.) .debs,
+gnome-sound-recorder now runs.  Sorry for the fire-drill--just
+following the steps that bug-buddy asked of me.

+I can't get anything to record (Record doesn't record, and Stop hangs
+grecord), but that (and the fact that Debian grecord has dependency
+problems) is probably a matter I had better take-up with the Debian
+unstable dev team.
