GStreamer | gst-rec | Ver: HEAD CVS

Summary: gst-recorder "v4l source error" failure during bt848
                    capture
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: HEAD CVS
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gst-rec
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
        ReportedBy: sig at netdot.net
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net

I start gst-recroder and configure a capture from a bt848 v4l video source and
an alsa audio source. As soon as I hit record, I get a stream of error beebs
coming at (I assume) 24 beeps per second. The error dialog says:

Element Video (video4linux/raw) Source gave an error
Could not get/set settings from/on source

At this point nothing will stop it (close box, ^C) and indeed, the entire X
session becomes unresponsive due to the costant deluge of error beeps. So I have
to switch to a virtual console and killall gst-recorder to get it to stop. Once
I have done that, the beeping stops right away, but it still takes about 15
seconds for the desktop to start responding to events again.
