GStreamer | gst-plugins | Ver: HEAD CVS

Summary: [oggdemux] seeking broken again [regression]
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: HEAD CVS
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gst-plugins
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
        ReportedBy: t.i.m at zen.co.uk
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net

In very long ogg/vorbis files (=50-70 mins/50-130MB), seeking is partially
broken again.

Everything worked great after Ronald fixed bug #156387, but something seems to
have been broken again since.

This is the scenario: a normal demux/decode pipeline, where the audiosink is
queried for the current position ca. 5-10 times per second.

Now, when I seek to a certain position in the ogg/vorbis file, the 'current
position' pointer in my media player continually jumps back and forth +/- 1-3
seconds or so for a couple of seconds, sometimes ca. 5-10 seconds, before it
settles down and actually goes on to play from that position again. While it
is jumping back and forth, it's mostly quiet, with a couple of extremely short
sound output burtst/stutter sounds once in a while (each 1-2 secs).

Marking this as a blocker, as it's a quite noticeable regression.

Cheers
-Tim
