Could you supply the output of:

 $ printenv | grep LD

and

 $ grep local /etc/ld.so.conf


Do things work if you do:

 $ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib"
 $ gst-inspect-0.10 fakesrc

?
