Using gstreamer-ffmpeg to decode the video stream seems to behave a little
differently:

gst-launch dvdreadsrc title=2 ! dvddemux name=dvd dvd. !  ffdec_mpeg2video  !
queue ! ffmpegcolorspace ! xvimagesink dvd. ! dvdlpcmdec ! audioconvert !
audioresample ! queue ! alsasink

The audio now rarely drops out.  However, there does seem to be a loss of
synchronization between the audio and video.
