How about a video input capture source for the desktop?  I would like to record
my desktop, but can't get programs like xvidrec to work.  Besides, programs
like
Ekiga or Gnome Meeting or Pitivi should have a way to record the desktop; what
if I want to demonstrate software over video conference, or want to record
desktop tutorial vids?  There are many useful applications for desktop
recording.
