GStreamer | gst-plugins-good | Ver: HEAD CVS
Summary: Profile support for gconfaudiosink
Product: GStreamer
Version: HEAD CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins-good
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: j at bitron.ch
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: Unspecified
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Currently it's not possible to specify multiple default/preferred sound devices
in GConf, so all applications without its own sound device chooser share the
same global default.
I propose to add profile support to gconfaudiosink, so the application is able
to specify whether it wants to play sound events, music/movies, or use the
sound device for audio/video conferencing. I've chosen the division into these
three categories according to
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/utopia-list/2005-July/msg00001.html
Patch will follow soon. This bug is part of my sound configuration patches to
allow sane graphical selection of sound cards in GNOME.
