That is ... bizarre :)

What's the output of 

  $ ldd /usr/bin/gst-launch-0.10

and

  $ ls -l /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/

?

Could you also do:

  $ export GST_DEBUG=*:5
  $ gst-launch-0.10 fakesrc ! fakesink 2>dbg.log
  ... wait for crash ...
  $ bzip2 dbg.log

and then attach the dbg.log.bz2 file?
