the VC8 project source file list:

1.includes a glib-compat.c that does not exist and should be removed
2.lacks a gstquark.c that is necessary
3.lacks a gstcaps.c that is necessary

After doing these modifications, the gstreamer project compiles and the
depending projects find the necessary functions in libgstreamer-0.10.lib
