If I compare the debug output (with gnomevfssrc:5) on Dapper vs. Edgy, the only
difference (aside from the error occuring) is that the Edgy side has two extra
lines like:

 ... gst_gnome_vfs_src_check_get_range:<source> undecided about URI
'smb://...', let base class handle it
