GStreamer | gstreamer (core) | Ver: 0.10.x
Summary: Ricoh Webcam not working
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.x
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gstreamer (core)
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: quim at kalpe.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: 2.19/2.20
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Please describe the problem:
I have a Sony Vaio AR with a integrated Ricoh webcam. The cam works with this
driver: http://lsb.blogdns.net/ry5u870
It's working under Ekiga, camorama and xawtv (I haven't tested more programs)
but not under Gstreamer. When I launch gnome-properties the cam is listed
correctly under "Video 4 Linux" and "Video 4 Linux 2" as "Sony VGP-VCC2 (Vaio
AR) #1" but the Test button displays the following error: "Video 4 Linux 2
(v4l2): Could not negotiate format".
I'm not sure if this is a driver related issue or a gstreamer one, but as the
cam is working on other apps...
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open gstreamer-properties
2. Select Video tab
3. Select v4l2
4. Select "Sony VGP-VCC2 (Vaio AR) #1"
5. Hit "Test" under "Default Input"
Actual results:
Application displays the following error: "Video 4 Linux 2 (v4l2): Could not
negotiate format".
Expected results:
Video from webcam is shown
Does this happen every time?
Yes
