GStreamer | gst-python | Ver: HEAD CVS
Summary: poor naming of gst.Element.pads()
Product: GStreamer
Version: HEAD CVS
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-python
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: wingo at pobox.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: Unspecified
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
gst.Element.pads() is bad API, for two reasons:
1. It does not reflect upstream API, i.e. iterate_pads, iterate_sink_pads, etc
2. It is a noun and not a verb. It sounds more like an attribute than a
method.
It should be changed to get_pads() for consistency with the rest of the
wrapper, and pads() left as a deprecated alias.
