Up until now the gst-launch-0.10 line still works nicely for me, jokosher is
constantly unusable for me. What reasons are there for not being able to
capture fast enough?

I just noticed that when doing the recording jokosher+metacity+X use 100% CPU.
Could it be the time counter which updates every n+1 ms?
