I checked out and installed the newest version (0.10.4) of gstreamer-ffmpeg
plugins from CVS last night. I also tried checking out and installing the
newest version of the good plugins but ran into problems installing it. I
messed around with it for quite awhile but couldn't get the make or make
install to run properly.

I tried watching a few of the files that have given me trouble with these sync
issues and they still are having trouble.
