I had a report recently that this is happening with fairly current Gstreamer:

As the user is running our latest stable release, that would be:

gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-0.10.9
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-0.10.10
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-0.10.8
gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-0.10.20

as per the thread, installing the wavpack gstreamer plugin fixed it. But that
shouldn't be needed...
