GStreamer | gstreamer (core) | Ver: git
Summary: loading a broken registry file can crash
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: git
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gstreamer (core)
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
        ReportedBy: ensonic at sonicpulse.de
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
     GNOME version: Unspecified
   GNOME milestone: Unspecified

The whole binrary registry reading code is not testing for reading beyond the
data region. E.g. we are using an unbound strlen. Also in case of failure
partialy read object are not rolled back. Thus they are not rescanned when
rereadign the registry and feature will be missing.
