build error messages

Trying to do a full gnome build via jhbuild on ubuntu 9.10
Things are going fine until I get to gst-plugins-base when I run into a "file
not found" message on "LINK libgstinterfaces-0.10.la".
Dropping into the shell, the problem seems to be when working on
GstInterfaces-0.10.gir (see attached).

Is there any other info I can provide?
