More work on segment handling

This builds upon 153537, and should be applied after it.
Totem likes Kate streams with text subtitles, but not ones with image
subtitles.
I have not yet found why. I suspect playbin2 or subtitleoverlay do different
things for text/x-pango-markup and video/x-dvd-subpicture.
