Note that the following pipeline nevertheless plays the file in 1280:

~/bin/gstreamer/bin/gst-launch-0.10 -v
--gst-plugin-path=/home/user/bin/gstreamer/lib filesrc location=record_1280.gdp
! gdpdepay ! ffdec_mpeg4 ! xvimagesink
