Had a quick chat with Edward today about this issue. It seems to be a bug that
will be trivial to fix in the 0.11/1.0 branch. My guess is with 1.0 looming
quite close on the horizon and that fixing this in the 0.10 branch is quite
hard, this bug is not likely to be ever fixed for the 0.10 branch.
