I wonder why v4lsrc is picked up. Daniel, can you try e.g.
gst-launch autovideosrc ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink

if this fails too, could you add a log from:
GST_DEBUG="*:5" GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 gst-launch 2>debug.log ...
